Calming Anxiety

Anxiety is a very common issue for clients these days. Regardless of our particular circumstances, there is a greater level of uncertainty about the future. Of course, we never really know what the future holds, but right now we know that we don't know!


Anxiety shows up in the energy system in a few common ways...


* A staticky feeling in the energy field which surrounds the body. This might feel like agitation, irritability or jumpiness - easily startled.


* Ungroundedness. This shows up as more energy being up around the head (thinking, worrying), and less flow down the legs and feet. You might experience this as feeling spacey, unable to focus, spinning thoughts that are difficult to stop.

* Contracted flow in the Third Chakra. When we are in fear it is a common reaction to contract the solar plexus. That's ok if the fear passes and we relax again. But if the anxiety and fear are continual, this area stays clenched. This can be felt as a tension in the abdomen, digestive distress, lack of confidence, or feeling powerless.

What you can do:

Get outside! Being in nature, with AWARENESS, is the best way to ground and release stress and anxiety.

Place your palms over your solar plexus area. Visualize healing energy or yellow light, flooding this area, helping it to soften and relax. Take some 4/8 breaths while you do this. Breathe in for the count of 4 and out for the count of 8. This calms the nervous system.
